Permaculture is a design system rooted in observing nature, first developed in the 1970s by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in Australia. It blends traditional ecological knowledge with modern sustainability practices to create resilient, self-sustaining systems that work in harmony with the land.

In Richland County, permaculture offers a powerful path forward—helping us restore soil health, support pollinators, grow fresh food, and create green spaces that nourish both people and the planet. Guided by the core ethics of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share, Mansfield Permaculture works to regenerate our local ecosystems while ensuring everyone has access to healthy food, thriving green spaces, and the knowledge to care for their community and environment.

This is the way we fix things.
